  • Wh Rating Formula: If your power bank specifies capacity only in milliamp-hours (mAh), calculate the Watt-hour rating using the standard formula:

    For example, a typical 20,000mAh battery operating at 3.7V nominal voltage equals (20000 × 3.7) ÷ 1000 = 74 Wh, which is well below the 100 Wh safety threshold.
  • Under 100 Wh (Standard Allowance): Power banks rating below 100 Wh (up to approximately 27,000mAh) are approved for carriage in cabin hand luggage without requiring airline pre-approval. Maximum allowed is generally 2 to 3 units per passenger.
